La experiencia del padre durante la hospitalización de su hijo recién nacido Pretérmino extremo / The Experience of Fathers during the Hospitalization of a Preterm Newborn / A experiência do pai durante a hospitalização do seu filho recém-nascido prematuro extremo

Objetivo: identificar el significado que le asigna el padre a la hospitalización de su hijo recién nacido pretérmino extremo. Materiales y métodos: estudio cualitativo, con la metodología de etnoenfermería, realizado en Bogotá, en el que participaron ocho padres. Los datos fueron analizados teniendo en cuenta las cuatro fases para el análisis de la información según Leininger. Resultados y discusión: a la luz de la teoría del Sol Naciente de Leininger surgen dos temas y siete patrones contrastados. Primer tema: "La hospitalización del recién nacido pretérmino extremo: cambios en la estructura social y cultural del padre", con cinco patrones. Segundo tema: "Unidad de Cuidado Intensivo Neonatal: primer hogar para el recién nacido pretérmino extremo", con dos patrones. Conclusiones: para los padres la hospitalización del hijo representa un cambio en su vida, donde el eje central son su hijo y su pareja; esto genera modificaciones en la estructura social y cultural, con el propósito de afianzar la relación de pareja, el bienestar de la familia y compartir la situación que están viviendo.

Objective: Identify what hospitalization of an extremely preterm newborn means to the father. Materials and methods: This qualitative study, based on an ethnonursing methodology, was conducted in Bogota. Eight parents took part. The data were analyzed according to the Leininger four-phase method for analysis. Results and discussion: Two topics and seven contrasting patterns emerged in light of Leininger's sunrise model. First topic: "Hospitalization of extreme preterm infants: changes in the father's social and cultural structure," with five patterns. Second topic: "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: first home for extremely preterm infants," with two patterns. Conclusions: The hospitalization of a child is a life-changing event for the father, with the focus being on his child and his partner. This generates changes in the social and cultural structure, so as to strengthen the relationship with the partner, the well-being of the family and to share the situation they are going through.

Objetivo: identificar o significado que o pai dá à hospitalização de seu filho recém-nascido prematuro extremo. Materiais e métodos: estudo qualitativo, com a metodologia de etnoenfermagem, realizado em Bogotá, do qual participaram oito pais. Os dados foram analisados considerando as quatro fases para a análise da informação segundo Leininger. Resultados e discussáo: à luz da teoria do Sol Nascente de Leininger, surgem dois temas e sete padrões constrastados. Primeiro tema: "A hospitalização do recém-nascido prematuro extremo: mudanças na estrutura social e cultural do pai", com cinco padrões. Segundo tema: "Unidade de Tratamento Intensivo Neonatal: primeiro lar para o recém-nascido prematuro extremo", com dois padrões. Conclusòes: para os pais, a hospitalização do filho representa uma mudança em sua vida, em que o eixo central são seu filho e sua companheiro; isso gera modificações na estrutura social e cultural, com o propósito de consolidar a relação do casal, o bem-estar da familia e compartilhar a situagào que está vivendo.

Significado que le asigna el padre a la hospitalización de su hijo recién nacido pretérmino extremo en la unidad de cuidado intensivo neonatal  / Meaning assigned by the parent to the hospitalization of extreme preterm newborn child in the neonatal intensive care unit

Objetivo: identificar el significado que le asigna el padre a la hospitalización de su hijo recién nacido pretérmino extremo, en la Unidad de Cuidado Intensivo Neonatal. Diseño, muestra y participantes: estudio cualitativo, metodología de etnoenfermería, muestreo por saturación de información, realizadas veintiuna entrevistas, ocho padres que cumplían criterios de inclusión. Resultados: surgen dos temas, "La hospitalización del recién nacido pretérmino extremo: cambios en la estructura social y cultural del padre", con cinco patrones: aferro a las creencias religiosas y cambios en la forma de ver al vida; lazos y relaciones con: el recién nacido, la pareja, familia y amigos; la hospitalización: un aprendizaje y curso intensivo del cuidado del recién nacido pretérmino extremo; organización del padre frente a la responsabilidad laboral y económica; una nueva percepción de la vida, a partir de la hospitalización del Recién Nacido Pretérmino Extremo. El segundo tema: "UCIN: primer hogar para el recién nacido pretérmino extremo", con dos patrones: el equipo de salud: un salvavidas para el neonato y una bendición para los papás; la URN: un camino necesario en la vida del recién nacido pretérmino extremo. Conclusiones: el significado que le da el padre a la hospitalización de su hijo recién nacido pretérmino extremo está enmarcado dentro del Modelo del Sol Naciente y los factores que conforman la dimensión de la estructura social y cultural.

Objective: Identify the meaning assigned by the parent to the hospitalization of preterm newborn child in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Design, sample and participants: Qualitative study, ethno nursing methodology, sampling saturation of the information, twenty one interviews made, eight parents who met inclusion criteria. Results: Raises two issues, first "The hospitalization of very preterm neonate: changes in social and culture structure of the father", with five pattern: cling to religious beliefs and changes in the way of looking at life; ties and relations: the baby, the couple, family and friends; the hospitalization learning and intensive course about the care of very preterm neonate; organization of the parent off the job and financial responsibility; a new perception of the life, from hospitalization Extreme Preterm Newborn. The second issue "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: the first home of Extreme Preterm Newborn" with two patterns: the health team: a lifesaving for the baby and a blessing for parents; the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit a necessary path in life of Extreme Preterm Newborn. Conclusions: The meaning assigned by the parent to the hospitalization of extreme preterm newborn child is framed within the model of the Rising Sun and the factors that make up the dimension of social and cultural structure.
